I didnt make my Ball jointed dolls, but I'm starting trying some doll making ^.^ I would like to be able to make one entirely myself in future
this head is one of my 485094 practices xD sculpting it is so funny and relaxing! but also shares a lot of time
(this photos are from more than a year ago!)
Edit Because I received this question several times!:
I used Jovi Air dry clay it was not really much quality and of some kind of blue/green color, I dont really recommed for professional sculpting but it was nice for practice and was cheap ^_^
Usé Pasta de modelar Jovi no es de mucha calidad y resultó no ser blanca si no de un color azul/verdoso, no la recomiendo para hacer trabajos profesionales pero fue muy bien para practicar y es económica ^_^
So here's the low-down: -Limited funds -I live in the land of corn and fat people(small town in hickville USA) -I can have access to Hobby Lobby and Jeffery Allan's and hardware stores. -Can't really order online. -Good with sculpting. -Wants to make a ball jointed doll like the pretty one shown here:[link]
Point being, I'd love help making my own. All of the sites on Google were shit. Any proffessional help from doll makers would be great. Please. Like what materials? Can i make my own eyes? Do I make the head hollow? Do I buy a wig or make it myself? I just want to use the doll for photography purposes.
well, I purchase ladoll from here www.hlj.com, I like more than usual clay. People often use puppen fimo and other polymer clays but I dont like them so much.
You need too, surfacer, and acrylic paints and pastel colors.
You can purchase wigs already made in various sizes and from a lot of websites (I like www.leekeworld.com)and you can sew your own weeks with head-caps and hair, you can find materials here: pupapa.com (they sell ladoll too, and various kind of eyes)
Making eyes it is possible, but I dont know how ^^ I personally prefer glass eyes that can be found really affordable
I'm sorry currently I can't help you more than this! hope you are able to order online in future or find similar materials
